Motorcycle Owners

If you want to be safe on the street and dirt, you've got to perform regular maintenance. Seriously, it's a good idea to be a lot more thorough about maintaining your bike than you would be with a car. If you don't want to do it or don't have the time, bring it in and we'll take care of it. Here's some things that you may want to check out.

  • Make sure tires are in good condition and properly inflated - don't just look at them, gauge it!
  • Check your brakes - fluid, cables, pads and rotors (check 'em if you've got 'em)
  • Engine and Transmission Oil - Keep those fluids clean and full. Keep your filters new and clean.
  • Leaks - Should be easy to find if your bike's been sitting for a long time, but check for unwanted fluids, wet connectors, puddles or other signs of drippage (note: this is perfectly normal for Harley owners - unlike with other bikes, Harley owners should service their bike if it is NOT leaking)
  • Cracks, dents or other frame or structural damage - once in a while do a thorough check on the complete frame and stress points to make sure there is no damage.
  • Chains and Drive Belts need to be checked regularly for proper tension.
  • Check all the switches - make sure ALL the lights, lamps and gauges work properly.
  • Make sure you are up to date on regular scheduled maintenance - call if you don't know the next recommended service for your particular vehicle.
  • JP Motorsports has professional mechanics, proper equipment and know how to help you keep your bike reliable. Call to schedule a time to bring it in and let our service professionals take a look at your street bike. It's the best investment you can make to stay safe and reliable for a long time.
